Six children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,037 others were diagnosed with measles or showed symptoms of the disease.
The death toll from measles and measles symptoms has now reached 803 since 15 March, according to the Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) latest measles update issued on Wednesday.
The report said six more children died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. However, no child died from confirmed measles during the period.
Of the total deaths since 15 March, 708 were among children with measles symptoms, while 95 died after being infected with confirmed measles.
Meanwhile, 133 children were diagnosed with measles and 904 showed measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. During the period, 834 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 883 were discharged.
According to the DGHS, a total of 120,352 suspected measles cases and 14,841 confirmed cases have been reported across the country since 15 March. Of them, 103,078 patients were admitted to hospitals, while 99,294 have already been discharged.
