The government has brought forward the joining date for 14,384 candidates recommended for appointment as assistant teachers in government primary schools under the 2025 Assistant Teacher Recruitment process.
According to a notification issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the teachers will now join their respective posts on 1 October, instead of the previously scheduled 29 October.
The notification, signed by Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry's School-2 Branch, said the newly appointed teachers will be posted on 2 October.
It also stated that the selected candidates must report to the District Primary Education Office in their respective districts on 1 October to complete the joining formalities.
Appointment letters will be issued to the successful candidates in due course. Following their posting on 2 October, they will subsequently be sent for the required professional training, the notification added.
