US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on Saturday met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The meeting began at 9:30am at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, said PM's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.
Further details of the meeting, including the issues discussed, will be shared later, he added.
As part of his visit to Bangladesh, Sergio Gor visited the Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf in Cox's Bazar on Friday (July 31). There, he was informed about the overall situation of the camps, humanitarian assistance activities and various aspects of the lives of the displaced Rohingyas. During the visit, he also exchanged views with relevant government officials, international organizations and representatives involved in humanitarian assistance activities.
Sergio Gor arrived in Dhaka on July 30 on a three-day official visit. His visit is being seen as part of the ongoing dialogue on Bangladesh-US relations.
