Int’l combat sports event held at Bashundhara Sports City

Tanvir Bashundhara Group (TBG) hosted an international combat sports event featuring 12 independent matches and 24 young fighters of four nationalities at the Zulcan Indoor Arena, Bashundhara Sports City on Saturday night.

TBG Managing Director Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan inaugurated the fighting event in the evening. Present at gallery were Safwan Bashundhara Global Chairman Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman Yeasha Sobhan, and Sanvir Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Emil Ahmed Sobhan.

Fighters from Bangladesh, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore took part in Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and boxing matches.

The organisers and sports personalities said such kind of events would help popularise Bangladeshi combat sports, motivate the youths in taking up sports, and present an international-standard stage for local young fighters.

The line-up of matches, contestants and winners in Saturday’s fight card is as follows:

Bout 1: Bangladesh’s Yahasan Hasin (winner) against Azizul Sarker

Bout 2: Bangladesh’s Azid Baby against Singapore’s Nick Chua (winner)

Bout 3: Bangladesh’s Abdul Hamid Noor against Singapore’s Sean Rafael Sani (winner)

Bout 4: Bangladesh’s Imon Tanchangya (winner) against the Philippines’ Rocky Bactol

Bout 5: Bangladesh’s Hossain Ahmed (winner) against Thailand’s Wirawat Sapanla

Bout 6: The Philippines’ Mark Joseph Abrilo against Thailand’s Nattawat Kaokhanchum (winner)

Bout 7: Bangladesh’s Isar Kabir (winner) faced Bangladeshi Ronald Halder

Bout 8: Bangladesh’s Gazzali Benzadid Zidan (winner) against local compatriot Kazi Zarif

Bout 9: Bangladesh’s Masadul Reza Amio against local compatriot Kaleb Chak

Bout 10: Bangladesh’s Manjur Alam (winner) against Philippines’ John Ezekiel Pagalangan

Bout 11: In women’s boxing, Bangladesh’s Sanjida Jannat (winner) against Thailand’s Pornpimon Pongpeo


Bout 12: Bangladesh’s Mohammad Rashed (winner) against Thailand’s Singthong Sor Singyu
