The Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association has predicted a decline in fuel stockpiling due to the recent increase in fuel prices.
Secretary General of the Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association, Mir Ahsan Uddin Parvez, made the statement in a press release.
He expressed appreciation for the government’s decision to adjust local fuel prices in line with global market rates. Parvez believes that this adjustment will reduce stockpiling tendencies and bring more transparency to sales.
In response to the rise in global fuel prices, the government has adjusted the consumer-level selling prices. As a result, the price of diesel has increased by 15 taka per liter, kerosene by 18 taka, octane by 20 taka, and petrol by 19 taka.
The new prices will come into effect on Sunday, April 19. According to the revised rates, the price per liter of diesel is now set at 115 taka, octane at 140 taka, petrol at 135 taka, and kerosene at 130 taka.
Under the new adjustments, diesel has increased from 100 taka to 115 taka per liter, marking a 15 taka increase. Kerosene has risen from 112 taka to 130 taka, with an 18 taka increase per liter. Octane has gone up from 120 taka to 140 taka, a 20 taka hike per liter. Petrol has increased from 116 taka to 135 taka, a 19 taka rise.
