Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has returned to Bangladesh after 17 years, landing at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday at 11:40am.
He is set to visit 300-Feet to thank party leaders and activists, and then proceed to Evercare Hospital to see his mother, Khaleda Zia, who is receiving treatment.
Earlier, the plane carrying Tarique Rahman landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9:56am. After a one-hour stop, it departed for Dhaka.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner BG-202 departed London’s Heathrow Airport at 6:15pm local time on Wednesday. He is accompanied by his wife, Dr Zobaida Rahman, and daughter, Barrister Zaima Rahman.
