Md Asaduzzaman has announced that he will resign from the post of attorney general on December 27.
He shared the information with the media on Wednesday.
On December 21, he announced that he would contest the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election from the Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency as a BNP-nominated candidate.
Subsequently, on December 23, BNP leaders from Shailkupa upazila collected the nomination papers on behalf of Md Asaduzzaman.
Following the fall of the Awami League government after the July mass uprising, senior Supreme Court lawyer Md Asaduzzaman was appointed Attorney General on August 8 last year. He later resigned from his position as BNP’s human rights affairs secretary.
Previously, he had also contested the 2018 national parliamentary election from the same constituency as a BNP candidate with the party’s symbol.
