Fire breaks out at garment factory in Chattogram EPZ

A massive fire has broken out at a garment factory in Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) on Thursday afternoon.

The fire originated around 2:00pm in the nine-storey building of Al Hamid Textile, which reportedly houses more than 500 workers.

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, 15 units are currently working to bring the blaze under control.

No casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire could not be immediately confirmed.
