An unidentified (60) old woman died after being hit by a train at Rajbari Sadar Basantpur railway station.
On Sunday (January 5) at around two o'clock in the morning, she died after being hit by the Benapole Express train from Dhaka to Benapole.
Basantpur Station Bazar Level Crossing Gate Keeper Masum Khan said that, it is believed that the woman is crazy wandering on the road. While walking along the railway track at night, after being hit by a speeding train, she fell down on the side of the railway track. She died on the spot.
Ziaur Rahman Butler, a local homeopath, said that, in the morning, after finishing Fajr prayers, she went out for a walk on the platform of Basantpur railway station. Meanwhile, the body was found lying next to the railway line in front of the platform. A woman in her 60s had train-cut marks on her head and stomach.
Rajbari Railway (GRP) police station officer-in-charge (OC) Asif Mohammad Siddiqul Islam said, "I have not yet received the news of the woman's death after being cut by the train." I will investigate and take necessary legal action.
