The High Court bench led by Justice KM Zahid Sarwar passed the bail order today (1 November), following submissions by Akhtaruzzaman's lawyer, senior advocate Mohammad Shishir Manir.
Earlier, on 4 October, the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court rejected Akhtaruzzaman's bail petition after his remand ended. The court then sent him to jail.
His lawyers later moved the High Court seeking bail.
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Akhtaruzzaman at his residence in the DOHS area of Dhaka Cantonment on the afternoon of 2 October.
The following day, a court granted police a one-day remand to question him.
After the remand, the court rejected his bail petition on 4 October and sent him to jail.
According to the case statement, tensions erupted at the airport on 1 October over alleged mismanagement, a shortage of luggage trolleys, delays in baggage delivery and the unavailability of Zamzam water.
The situation reportedly escalated into threats and confrontations.
Authorities later filed a case against Akhtaruzzaman, accusing him of creating disorder at the airport, obstructing government duties and harassing a security official.
