
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has ordered relevant ministries and agencies to expedite construction on the Inner Circular Ring Road project, aiming to significantly alleviate severe traffic congestion in the capital.
During a high-level review meeting held on Sunday at the Prime Minister's Office within the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Local Government Department to jointly evaluate existing project plans and accelerate implementation.
He emphasized on identifying the obstacles in the implementation of the project and removing them quickly, ensuring effective coordination between the concerned organizations and setting a realistic time frame to complete the work. At the same time, the Prime Minister ordered to ensure quick visible progress in the project work.
Minister of Road Transport and Bridges and Railways and Shipping Sheikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister of Road Transport and Bridges and Railways Ministry Habibur Rashid Habib, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton and senior officials of the relevant ministries and departments were present in the meeting.
