Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) on Tuesday concluded a 10‑day training workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for members of its media cell “Prantik Konthoswar” at the force’s headquarters.

Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, director general of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed certificates among the trainees.

Speaking at the event at the force’s headquarters, Major General Mahmud said Bangladesh Ansar and VDP is undergoing a crucial transition from analogue to digital systems.

He stressed accelerating the digital transformation to make training activities more timely, dynamic and effective through greater use of modern technology, digital content and training materials.

He also urged the trainees to present the force’s operational activities, public safety, social development, public welfare and preventive initiatives to the public through quality, informative and timely content on mass media and digital platforms.

The director general said AI could play a vital role in making such content more attractive, informative and timely.

He called for its responsible, creative and effective use in the force’s media activities to project a positive image of its operations and humanitarian efforts.

A total of 42 members, including range-based representatives of the Ansar and VDP media cell, completed the workshop and received certificates. Cloud Connect and Learning Bangladesh were key partners in organising the training.

The workshop enhanced participants’ skills in AI-based technologies, digital content preparation and presentation, which is expected to help the force communicate its activities and public welfare messages more rapidly and effectively.

Colonel Bayazid Mohammad Tareq Junaid, deputy director general (administration), Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy director general (training), and other officers and employees were also present at the ceremony.
