
Gold prices in the country have been raised again, with the price of 22-carat gold increasing by Tk 5,482 per bhori to Tk 246,110, including VAT.
The new prices came into effect at 10:00am on Saturday, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring took the decision at a meeting on Saturday. The committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, later issued a notice announcing the revised prices.
The latest increase came just two days after BAJUS raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 3,849 per bhori on August 20.
Under the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold has been increased by Tk 5,249 to Tk 235,030 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has risen by Tk 4,491 to Tk 201,846 per bhori.
The price of traditional-method gold has also been raised by Tk 3,616 to Tk 164,812 per bhori.
The revised prices were effective from 10:00am on Saturday.
BAJUS has also increased silver prices. The price of 22-carat silver has risen by Tk 175 to Tk 5,482 per bhori, while 21-carat silver has increased by Tk 175 to Tk 5,249.
The price of 18-carat silver has risen by Tk 117 to Tk 4,491 per bhori, while traditional-method silver has increased by Tk 59 to Tk 3,383 per bhori.
