A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking a directive to declare the parliamentary seat of National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Abdul Hannan Masud, elected from Noakhali-6 (Hatiya), vacant or cancelled.
Supreme Court lawyer Md Yunus Ali Akand submitted the petition with the relevant High Court branch on Wednesday.
Hannan Masud became the youngest member of the parliament among those elected in the 13th parliamentary election held on February 12. According to information in his election affidavit, he was also the youngest candidate in the election.
