Pre-registration for Bangladeshis wishing to perform Hajj in 2027 begins today and will continue until 24 September, according to the schedule set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in line with the roadmap announced by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Aspiring pilgrims must complete the initial registration within the stipulated period. Registration can be completed through the e-Hajj system under both government and private arrangements.
Before initial registration, each pilgrim must complete pre-registration by paying Tk30,000. They will then have to deposit Tk350,000 to complete the initial registration. Those who complete initial registration must pay the remaining amount of their selected Hajj package and complete final registration by 10 December.
Pilgrims travelling under the government arrangement can create a user account on the e-Hajj system and register themselves.
Registration will also be available through Union Digital Centres, divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, district and upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office and the Dhaka Hajj Office.
Under the government arrangement, pilgrims must deposit the money through a voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank to complete initial registration. Under the private arrangement, pilgrims must deposit the money into the bank account designated by the relevant agency. Details of the agency’s bank account will be available on its profile on the Hajj portal.
Applicants must hold a passport valid until at least 31 December, 2027.
During initial registration, pilgrims will also have to select the district where they will receive training and vaccinations, the type of Hajj they intend to perform and their Hajj package.
However, people under 15 will not be eligible to perform Hajj. Those suffering from serious heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental illnesses, or dementia will also be ineligible. Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy will not be allowed to perform Hajj.
People suffering from active infectious diseases that may pose a public health risk, including tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, will also be ineligible.
Women in the final two months of pregnancy or with high-risk pregnancies will not be issued fitness certificates for Hajj.
