Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said there is no possibility of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina surrendering, asserting that the government will bring her back to Bangladesh to execute the court's verdict, reports Daily Sun.

Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion titled "Day of Turning Point in the Mass Uprising" organised by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium of Dhaka University on Wednesday, the home minister said that the law and the court would determine whether she would be entitled to an appeal.

Salahuddin Ahmed also announced that the government is actively working to extradite former ministers, members of parliament, and government officials currently hiding abroad who are accused of mass killing and crimes against humanity so they can face trial.

"She [Sheikh Hasina] says she will return to Bangladesh. We also want her to return, but legally," the home minister said, adding, "Her verdict will be implemented first by bringing her back to the country. There is no chance of surrender. If there is a chance of appeal, the court will see to it."
