At least 10 people sustained burn injuries after an air conditioner (AC) reportedly exploded at a salon in the capital's Bangshal area on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in the Alu Bazar area of the capital, triggering a fire that quickly engulfed the shop.
With the help of local residents, the injured were rescued and taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
According to the Burn Institute and local sources, the air conditioner exploded with a loud bang, causing the fire to spread rapidly through the salon. Customers and salon employees inside the shop suffered burn injuries in the blaze.
Hospital and local sources said several of the injured are in critical condition.
The cause of the explosion is yet to be officially confirmed.
