Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has set off for Barishal on his first official visit to the division.

He left his residence in Gulshan, Dhaka, shortly after 6:00 am on Monday (July 13), according to the BNP Media Cell.

During the visit, the prime minister is scheduled to take part in tree plantation programmes in Gournadi and Barishal City Corporation areas, distribute Family Cards, and attend an organisational meeting at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy.

On Sunday, the prime minister's Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Rumon, said Tarique Rahman would travel to Barishal by road. He added that the prime minister would participate in several tree plantation programmes before returning to Dhaka in the evening.

According to the official itinerary, the prime minister will join tree plantation programmes at the newly excavated Sarikal–Batajor site in Batajor Union under Gournadi, at the Trish Godown Massacre Memorial in Barishal district, and along the banks of the Sagar River adjacent to the Trish Godown area.

Later in the afternoon, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will attend an exchange meeting with leaders of the BNP and its associate bodies at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy.
