Five more children died with measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, while 968 new cases have been reported in the timeline.
The information was released on Friday July 3, 2026, in a press statement issued by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the statement, the total number of suspected measles cases recorded in the country between March 15 and July 3 has risen to 103,961.
During the same 24-hour period, 139 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were identified, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 12,425.
DGHS data show that 87,262 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized since March 15. Of them, 83,543 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
The statement also said that a total of 636 died after developing suspected measles symptoms during the reporting period. In addition, 93 deaths have been confirmed as being caused by measles.
