The Eid-released Bangladeshi film 'Roid' has begun its theatrical run in the United States after earning praise from audiences and critics in Bangladesh.
The film was released simultaneously in 31 cities across 20 US states for North American audiences starting Friday.
International distributor Bioscope Films said the release will allow not only members of the Bangladeshi diaspora in the US but also international moviegoers to experience the film.
Directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, ‘Roid’ was released in Bangladesh during the Eid-ul-Adha holiday and continues to be screened in several cinemas and multiplexes across the country weeks after its premiere.
The film stars Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushiin the lead roles, Gazi Rakayet, Ahsabul Yamin Riad and others appearing in key supporting roles.
Earlier, ‘Roid’ began its Australian theatrical run on June 5. With its US release, the film has further expanded its global reach.
