Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) foiled an alleged attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push 11 people into Bangladesh through the Darshana border in Chuadanga early on Sunday.
According to local sources, the incident took place around 5:00am near border pillars 76 and 77 along the Darshana-Gede frontier under Damurhuda upazila.
The BSF reportedly attempted to force 11 individuals — including eight men and three women — across the border into Bangladeshi territory.
However, BGB personnel on duty quickly intervened after detecting suspicious movement in the area and successfully prevented the alleged push-in attempt.
Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan, commanding officer of BGB-6 Battalion in Chuadanga, said regular patrols, intelligence monitoring, and operational activities were continuing to prevent illegal cross-border movement and other unlawful activities along the frontier.
“BGB remains on round-the-clock alert to prevent any such incidents along the border,” he said.
