Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in the tourist city of Cox's Bazar on a one-day visit, landing at Cox's Bazar Airport at 10:00am on Saturday.
According to his Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, the prime minister left his residence in Gulshan and reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:45am.
“The Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is traveling to Cox’s Bazar by air.
He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from his Gulshan residence. His spouse, Zubaida Rahman, is accompanying him,” Ruman said.
He added that the prime minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka later in the evening after participating in several programmes, including a tree plantation campaign and canal re-excavation initiatives.
During the visit, the prime minister will inaugurate the re-excavation of the Patli Canal in PMkhali Union at 10:30am and address a public gathering at the site as part of the day's activities.
