Bangladesh national cricket team secured the ODI series against Pakistan national cricket team with a thrilling 11-run victory in the third and final match of Pakistan tour of Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted a competitive 290 for 5 in their 50 overs. Tanzid Hasan Tamim starred with a superb 107 off 107 balls, striking six fours and seven sixes to anchor the innings. Litton Das contributed 41 runs, while Towhid Hridoy remained unbeaten on 48 to help the hosts finish strongly.
Chasing 291, Pakistan were bowled out for 279 in the final over despite a brilliant 106 from Salman Ali Agha. He kept Pakistan in the contest with a counter-attacking century, while Shaheen Shah Afridi added 37 late in the innings.
Bangladesh’s bowlers, however, held their nerve in the closing stages. Taskin Ahmed led the attack with four wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman picked up three crucial scalps to seal the narrow victory and confirm the series triumph for the hosts.
