The campaign period of the 13th National Parliamentary Election ended on Tuesday (February 10) at 7:30AM.
On February 12, the people will decide who will become the head of the next government.
In the final hours, leaders made a series of promises and pledges, leaving voters to reflect on those ahead of the national election. They said that in the final moments, every minute and every second is important and they want to spend even that time seeking votes. Some even set out as soon as the first light of dawn appeared.
Everyone expressed hope for victory if a fair election is held. Meanwhile, in various areas, some candidates made allegations against rival candidates. However, voters are calling for a peaceful environment.
The Election Commission (EC) is wrapping up preparations to hold a referendum alongside a general election for the first time. Ballot papers and other election materials set to head to centres on Wednesday.
Polls will be held for 299 of 300 seats in the national parliament on Thursday. Voting in one seat has been suspended due to the death of a candidate.
