To make transportation for students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) more convenient and comfortable, Pubali Bank PLC has generously donated two modern buses to the institution.
A handover ceremony was held on Saturday (October 11) at 12 p.m. on the BUET Transport Pool premises. Pubali Bank PLC’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammad Ali officially handed over the symbolic keys to BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman. The event was conducted by Professor Dr. Arif Hasan Mamun, Director of the Directorate of Advisory, Extension and Research Services (DAERS).
Speaking at the ceremony, BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman said, “The initiative taken by Pubali Bank PLC to expand transport facilities for BUET students is truly commendable.”
He added, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all officials of Pubali Bank for addressing our students’ transportation challenges and presenting us with these two buses. This donation is not just about vehicles—it represents a strong gesture of support and goodwill that will greatly help ensure safe commuting for our students. I hope Pubali Bank PLC will continue to support BUET’s transport and development initiatives through its annual CSR fund in the future.”
Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor further said, “I hope our students will make proper and careful use of these buses. They are not just a means of transport, but a symbol of trust and affection from Pubali Bank toward BUET.”
In his remarks, Pubali Bank PLC’s Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Ali said, “I am truly delighted and proud on this special day, as I stand here not only as a banking professional but also as an alumnus of this glorious institution.”
He continued, “Handing over these two buses to BUET is more than just a formal duty—it is a small expression of my love, respect, and gratitude. As a proud former student of BUET, I hope the university’s brilliant students will benefit from these facilities and take the nation forward with their contributions. My sincere thanks to the honorable Vice-Chancellor for welcoming and supporting our initiative.”
