Dengue has claimed two more lives in the past 24 hours, while 573 new patients were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A bulletin released by DGHS’s Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room on Monday (8 September) said that of the new cases: 143 patients were admitted outside Dhaka division, 73 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 80 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 104 in Barishal (outside city), 83 in Chattogram (outside city), 31 in Khulna (outside city), 14 in Mymensingh (outside city), 44 in Rajshahi (outside city), one in Sylhet (outside city).
In the last 24 hours, 422 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. Since January 2025, a total of 33,127 patients have recovered.
So far this year (January 1–September 6), 137 people have died and 34,948 cases have been reported nationwide.
Historical data shows the highest number of hospitalizations occurred in 2023 with 321,179 cases, followed by 101,211 in 2024, 62,382 in 2022, 28,429 in 2021, 1,405 in 2020, and 101,354 in 2019.
