Bangladesh showcased their T20 strength on Monday, thrashing the Netherlands by nine wickets at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium to clinch the three-match series with a game to spare.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh elected to bowl first on a batting-friendly track, and their bowlers set the tone immediately. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed returned to the XI with a decisive spell of 4-0-21-3, removing key Dutch batsmen Max O’Dowd, Teja Nidamanuru, and Paul van Meekeren to leave the visitors reeling at 81 for 9.
Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman supported the spin attack with two wickets each, as the Netherlands were bowled out for 103 in 17.3 overs. Aryan Dutt top-scored with 30 for the Dutch side.
Chasing the modest target, Bangladesh’s batters completed the run chase comfortably. Tanzid Hasan Tamim struck an unbeaten 54 from 40 balls, including two sixes, while Parvez Hossain Emon contributed 23. Skipper Litton Das remained unbeaten on 18 as Bangladesh reached 104 for 1 in 13.1 overs, with 41 balls to spare.
