Officials and employees of Palli Sanchay Bank's Madhupur branch in Tangail formed a peaceful human chain in front of the bank's local office on Wednesday afternoon (November 4), demanding the immediate approval and implementation of the organisational structure (organogram) submitted to the Finance Division by the bank's Board of Directors.

They also demanded timely promotions for employees at all levels and the introduction of other employment-related benefits.

The programme was attended by Enamul Haque, president of the Central Committee of Palli Sanchay Bank CBA; Ariful Islam, manager of the Madhupur branch; Khairul Kabir, general secretary of the Tangail District Committee; Mamunur Rashid, vice-president of the Tangail District CBA; and local CBA leaders Md. Shahadat Hossain, Mohammad Jabed Ali, Akhtar Hossain and Laiju Akhtar. Officers and employees of the Madhupur branch also participated in the demonstration.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers said the bank's Board of Directors had formulated a specific organisational structure and submitted it to the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance a long time ago. However, despite the passage of considerable time, the proposed organogram has yet to receive approval.

As a result, they said, the bank's administrative activities have been disrupted, while promotions and various employment-related benefits for officers and employees remain uncertain.

The speakers urged the relevant authorities to approve and implement the proposed organogram without further delay, saying it was essential for the bank's institutional development as well as the protection of employees' rights.

They also warned that they would launch tougher programmes in the coming days if their demands were not addressed promptly.
