Rabea Khatun Killed in Road AccidentA school teacher was killed in a road accident in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Rabea Khatun, 42, a teacher at Nadpara Jubo Milan Secondary School.
She was the wife of college teacher Kabir Hossain and a resident of Nadpara village under Sarutia Union in Shailkupa.
According to her family, Rabea Khatun had gone to Kushtia with her husband to visit her ailing mother-in-law. While returning home, she fell off the motorcycle after it hit a roadside obstruction while her husband was trying to control the speed near Badhbazar area.
Locals rescued her and took her to Kushtia Medical College Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday afternoon while undergoing treatment.
The death of the teacher has cast a shadow of grief among her family members, colleagues and local residents.
Shailkupa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir Molla confirmed the incident.
