Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Shahjahan Kabir rejected the bail plea after a hearing on Wednesday.
Several lawyers including Dhaka Bar Association President Anwar Zahid Bhuiyan argued for Bidisha’s bail. Advocate Hemayet Uddin Khan Hiron opposed the bail on behalf of the complainant.
Earlier, police arrested Bidisha from Gulshan in Dhaka on the night of August 25 based on an arrest warrant in a fraud case.
On May 20 this year, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jamshed Alam sentenced Bidisha to two years in prison in the fraud case.
