Jhalakathi's new Superintendent of Police interacts with journalists

After joining Jhalakathi, new District Superintendent of Police Marin Sultana interacted with local journalists. He had an open discussion with journalists on various civic issues including the law and order situation in the district, public safety, drugs, juvenile crime, traffic congestion, etc.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the Superintendent of Police's office on Tuesday (August 25).

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Mamun Al Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) SM Bayezid Ibne Akbar, Jhalakathi Press Club President Advocate Akkas Sikder, General Secretary ASM Mahmudur Rahman Parvez, Television Journalists Association President and Publisher of Daily Kholakantha Ajmir Hossain Talukder, General Secretary Shafiul Azam Tutul and journalists working in various media outlets were present at the meeting. 

During the exchange of views, the journalists highlighted various problems of the public and various aspects of the police activities, including the overall law and order situation in the district, drug control, prevention of juvenile crime, and traffic congestion. They also spoke about the need for a more effective role of the police in solving these problems.

Superintendent of Police Marin Sultana listened attentively to the statements of the journalists. He emphasized the need for mutual cooperation and coordination between the police and the media to further improve the law and order situation in the district and ensure public safety.

The Superintendent of Police said that the police will work sincerely to ensure the safety of the people of the district. The problems, complaints and information received from the journalists will be considered seriously and necessary measures will be taken.

He also said that along with the police, the media also has an important role to play in maintaining the law and order situation. If information about various anomalies and crimes in the society comes to the attention of the police through responsible journalism, it will be easier to take effective steps to prevent them.

The meeting emphasized on further strengthening mutual trust, communication, coordination and cooperation between the police and the media.  The need for regular exchange of views between the police and journalists in the future also came up to improve the law and order situation in the district.
