Acting President and National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikram left Bangabhaban after completing his final day in office on Thursday.
The acting president departed Bangabhaban ahead of the swearing-in of the country’s new president, scheduled for Friday evening.
He was given a guard of honour at Bangabhaban at noon on Thursday, before leaving the presidential palace. Officials of Bangabhaban also bid him farewell with flowers.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad assumed the responsibilities of acting president on July 24 following the resignation of former president Mohammed Shahabuddin.
