Govt sends 17 senior police officials into compulsory retirement

The government has placed 17 senior Bangladesh Police officials on compulsory retirement through separate gazette notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The notifications, issued today (23 July), signed by Senior Secretary of the Public Security Division Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, by order of the president, said the officers would receive retirement benefits in accordance with existing service rules.

The officials sent into compulsory retirement include Highway Police DIG Mohammad Abdullahil Baki; CID Additional DIG Mohammad Sarwar Hossain; Tourist Police Additional DIG Bidhan Tripura; Police Staff College Additional DIG Dr AKM Iqbal Hossain; Sarda DIG Md Walid Hossain; APBn Additional DIG Sohely Ferdous; CID Additional DIG Rebeka Sultana; Sarda Additional DIG Mohammad Tabarak Ullah; Rangpur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Md Habibur Rahman; Dhaka Police Telecom Additional DIG Hasina Rahman; Police Headquarters Additional DIG (attached to Central Police Hospital) Faisal Mahmud; Police Headquarters Additional DIG Kaniz Fatema; Tourist Police Additional DIG Sultana Nazma Hossain; Naval Police Additional DIG Jesmin Begum; TDS Superintendent of Police Abdur Rahim Shah Chowdhury; CID DIG Sana Shasinur Rahman; and DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Additional DIG) Mosammat Farida Yasmin.

The gazette notifications did not specify any reasons for the compulsory retirements.
