Seven people, including a couple and their minor child, were killed in landslides in Bandarban’s Lama and Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria amid heavy rainfall.
The incidents occurred early Thursday.
Five people, including three members of the same family, were killed in a landslide triggered by several days of heavy rainfall in Lama upazila.
The incident occurred in the early hours in the Mission Para area of Ward No. 2 under Aziznagar Union.
The deceased were identified as Md Yunus, 28, his wife Ranu Akter, 22, and their four-year-old son Md Soleman, all residents of Mission Para in Aziznagar Union.
Meanwhile, two children have been killed in in a landslide in Chakaria.
Chakaria administrator (UNO) Shahin Delwar said that the two children were killed in a landslide in the Moshniya Kata area of Baraitoli Union’s Ward No. 7.
