The fire broke out at the market around 4:00am at Bhennatola Bazar, reducing five businesses to ashes.

Locals said the fire originated at a wholesale grocery shop at Bhennatola Bazar around 4:00am and quickly spread to adjacent stores, reducing five businesses to ashes.

Babul joined efforts to extinguish the blaze when a gas cylinder stored inside one of the shops exploded, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

Five others injured in the explosion were identified as Al-Amin, 27, Akidul Islam, 30, Jahangir Hossain, 35, Hossain Biswas, 12, and Labu Molla, 35. They are undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
