The first return flight carrying Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport on Wednesday. Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG136 from Jeddah landed at the airport at 12:05 p.m. with 378 Hajj pilgrims on board.
The pilgrims were received by the Director of the airport, Group Captain Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mughir, who extended a warm welcome upon their arrival. Officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), including the SATO, the airport’s Executive Magistrate, and senior officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, including the District Manager and Station Manager, were also present at the reception ceremony.
A total of 5,574 pilgrims departed for Saudi Arabia through Shah Amanat International Airport during the 2026 Hajj season. Of them, 4,748 travelled on direct Hajj flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, while another 826 pilgrims travelled on other flights to perform the holy Hajj.
