Three more children have died with symptoms of measles in Rajshahi over the past 24 hours.
Of them, two died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), while another died at a private facility, CDMA Hospital.
RMCH spokesperson Dr Sankar K Biswas said that 20 children were admitted to the hospital with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. Currently, 138 children are undergoing treatment for the infection in the isolation and paediatric wards. Five children have been discharged after recovery, he added.
He further noted that a total of 42 children have died with measles symptoms at RMCH during the current season.
Additionally, six children have died with similar symptoms at private hospitals in Rajshahi city. With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths linked to measles symptoms in Rajshahi has reached 48 over the past three months.
