Tarique Rahman vows national rebuilding if BNP comes to power

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that if his party forms government with public support, its first responsibility will be to rebuild the country.

He stressed that national reconstruction cannot be achieved by any single group alone and must involve people from all political affiliations, classes, and professions.

Tarique Rahman made the remarks on Monday while addressing an electoral public rally organised by the Khulna Metropolitan and District BNP.

“The country must be rebuilt by including everyone, regardless of party, opinion, class, or profession. It is not possible to rebuild a nation by relying on only one group of people,” he said.

Referring to recent comments allegedly made by a leader of another political party, the BNP chairperson said that a political leader had openly stated that they do not believe in women’s leadership.

He further alleged that the same leader had made offensive remarks about women who seek employment.

“Dear brothers and sisters, I feel genuinely ashamed to repeat the word that was used against our mothers and sisters. Such language is a disgrace to our country,” Tarique Rahman said.

He added that following widespread criticism from all sections of society, it was later claimed that the leader’s social media account had been hacked. However, experts have stated that such an account could not have been hacked in that manner.

“A senior leader of a political party is lying to the public ahead of an election, and even the party itself is spreading falsehoods by claiming the account was hacked. This is their identity—they are liars,” he alleged.

Tarique Rahman further said that such groups only understand self-interest and use religion as a tool to protect their own interests.
