BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has arrived at Heathrow Airport in London on his way to Bangladesh.
The BNP leader, accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman and their daughter Zaima Rahman, left their London home around 8pm (Bangladesh time) on Wednesday, and reached the airport in a short time.
They will travel on a regular Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, scheduled to depart Heathrow Airport at 6:15pm (London time) and land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka via Sylhet around 11:50am (local time) on Thursday.
Meanwhile, all preparations are in place to receive Tarique Rahman, who is returning home after more than 17 years in exile.
In Dhaka, a mass reception is planned on the July 36 Expressway, commonly known as the 300 Feet Road in Khilkhet, where a temporary stage has been set up under tight security.
The BNP leader is expected to address the gathering to express his gratitude to the nation.
There is widespread excitement and enthusiasm among the party leaders and activists over his return to the country.
