The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved the charge sheet in a case filed against British lawmaker Tulip Siddiq over "illegal acquisition" of a flat by providing undue benefits to Eastern Housing.
On April 15 this year, the ACC filed a case against Tulip Siddiq along with two former Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) officials -- Shah Khasruzzaman and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain.
When the investigation was nearing completion in July, accused Khasruzzaman filed a petition with the High Court, which halted the probe for three months. Later, when the ACC appealed to the Chamber Court, it received a "no order" decision.
ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain said, "With no other option left, the ACC is going to submit the charge sheet after five months by dropping Khasruzzaman from the case."
