In the anti-discrimination student movement, 71 students involved in the attack, vandalism and killing of Shaheed Abu Sayed of Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) students were suspended semester wise in the 109th syndicate meeting for different terms. Protesting against this, the general students of the university formed a human chain to demand permanent expulsion and cases on Thursday.
The students formed a human chain with placards in the media premises of the university. At this time, the students started different slogans. Ha ha funny! Expulsion for ragging, semester if killed. Do not accept this trial of farce. I want exemplary punishment of the criminal.
The student Ashiqur Rahman said that he does not accept this decision of the administration. If the administration does not permanently expel these 71 people within 3 days, we will stop all administrative activities. Many of the officers involved in the attack are still working. We want them punished.
Student Ahsan Habib said, when the VC was first appointed in BRUR after the July-August Revolution, he promised us that those involved in the killing of Abu Sayed would be properly investigated and punished but 6 months after the murder, only arranged for 1/2 semester expulsion which is not desirable in any way. We don't accept it.
