Popular theatre troupe BotTala- a performance space will premiere its new play “Jojongondha Maya” at the Experimental Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital tomorrow.
Written by Badruzzaman Alamgir and directed by Imran Khan Munna, the play will be staged for three consecutive performances- a show on Thursday and two show on Friday.
Inaugural show will be held at 7:30pm tomorrow and there will be two more shows of the play at the same venue at 5pm and 7:30pm on Friday.
About the play, writer Badruzzaman Alamgir said, “During any war, politicians hand over weapons to the people, the rich provide food, and the marginalised send their children to war. After the war is over, politicians shake hands with the opposing leader, the rich increase the price of food in the market so that their subsidies come up, and the poor start searching for the graves of their children lost in the war. ‘Jojongondha Maya’ is one such search story.”
The probable cast of the play includes Samina Lutfa Nitra, Mohammad Ali Haider, Kazi Roksana Ruma, Golam Mahbub Masum, Monira Khatun Srishti, Moon Islam, Niranjan Das, Ashraful Islam Asru, Shahadat Hossain and others.
