In the anti-discrimination student movement, 71 students involved in the attack, vandalism and killing of Shaheed Abu Sayed of Begum Rokeya University were expelled in the 109th Syndicate meeting for different terms on Monday.
University Vice-Chancellor and Disciplinary Board President Professor Dr. Shaukat Ali published the list of names of 72 people, including 71 people.
University administration will take legal action against 15 people. They are Pomel Barua, Shamim Mahafuz, Dhananjay Kumar Togar, Glorious Rabbi (Fazle Rabbi), Babul, Bidhan, Tanveer, Abdullah Al Noman Khan, Rifat, Forhad Hossain Elite, Mominul, Arifuzzaman Emon, Gaziur Gazi, Shahid Hasan Sid, Mamun.
33 were expelled for 2 semesters. They are: Sejan Ahmed (alias Arif), Md. Arafat Rahman Abir, Abu Saleh Nahid, Imran Chowdhury Akash, Kofi Anan Mannan, Masudul Hasan, Uzzal Mia, Habibur Rahman, Sakhawat Hussain, Showaibul (Sallu), Abdullah Al Raihan, Bayezid Mostafi, Russell, Siam Al Nahid, Amit, Akhtar Hussain, Tanzil, Munna Hasan Leon, Jihan Ali, Md. Sabbir Hossain (Ryan), Galib Hasan, Mahmudur Rahman Hriday, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Pipas Ali, Mozammel Haque, Mritunjoy Roy, Md Sajjad Hossain, Manik Chandra Sen, Rabindra Roy, Siam Arafat, Md Sabbir Ahmed, Md Musanna-bin-
Ahmed, Shahin Islam.
23 were expelled for 1 semester. They are: Md. Hasanuzzaman Soumik, Sudipta Sarkar Bandhan, Zubair Mahmud, Komal Debnath, Md. Rijon Mondal, Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, Philip Roy, Jihad Ullah, SM Labu Islam, Jayant Chandra Roy, Sabuj Kumar, Sabuj Mohanta, Md. Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Jamal Miah, Taufiq Kibria, Mejbahul Sarkar Joy, Debashish Kumar Roy, Atef Ashab Dil Mandal, Nafiul Islam, Tapan Chowdhury, Sajedur Rahman, Amirul Islam Shubo, Shafiul Azam (Somrat).
The vice chancellor said that the information inquiry committee had given a list of 72 students. The university disciplinary board has decided to take legal action against 23 students for one semester, 33 students for two semesters and 15 former students. It was decided to expel the remaining 15 former students and BSL leaders and activists of the university and take legal action against them.
