Jahangirnagar University (JU) has imposed a ban on holding any events on campus after 10pm until further notice, citing the need to maintain peace, order, and security.
The announcement was confirmed in a notification issued by the university’s Public Relations Office on Saturday night.
According to the notice: “As per the decision taken earlier at the Syndicate meeting, all concerned are hereby informed that, in the interest of maintaining peace, discipline, and security on the Jahangirnagar University campus, all events after 10 pm are prohibited until further instructions. If any event continues past 10 pm, action will be taken against the organisers in accordance with the university’s existing rules and/or state laws.”
The notice also instructed that sound levels during events must be kept within tolerable limits.
