President Mohammed Shahabuddin arrived in his home district Pabna on Saturday morning (November 8) for a two-day official visit — his fifth since taking office.
He landed at the Pabna District Stadium helipad at 9:40am, where Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mofizul Islam and Superintendent of Police Mortoza Ali Khan received him.
The President departed Tejgaon by helicopter at 9.00am.
According to the official itinerary signed by Protocol Officer Abul Kalam Md Lutfor Rahman, President Shahabuddin received a guard of honour at the Circuit House upon arrival, visited his parents’ graves at Arifpur around 11.00am, and spent some time at his residence.
He has a schedule to meet close relatives in the afternoon and will stay overnight at the Circuit House.
On Sunday morning, he will again receive a guard of honour before departing for Dhaka.
This marks his first visit to Pabna since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government. As the 22nd President of Bangladesh, Shahabuddin previously visited the district four times — on May 15 and September 27, 2023, and on January 16 and June 9, 2024.
