The BNP has suspended the nomination for the Madaripur-1 constituency after announcing potential contenders for 237 seats in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday.
According to the release, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of nominated candidates at a press conference held at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Monday. Among the announced names was Kamal Zaman Molla for the Madaripur-1 (Shibchar upazila) constituency.
However, due to unavoidable reasons, the announcement for the Madaripur-1 seat and the candidate’s name has been put on hold, the statement added.
