Students will resist if election results are manipulated: Abidul

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal-nominated vice-president candidate Abidul Islam Khan on Tuesday warned that students would resist any attempt to manipulate the results of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections.

He came up with the warning at a press conference held at the Madhur Canteen on the campus this afternoon.

Earlier, the voting concluded peacefully though there were allegations of vote rigging. Balloting started at 8am across eight polling centres amid tight security and continued uninterrupted until 4pm.

At the press conference, the VP candidate expressed hope for a landslide victory for his panel if the results are not manipulated.

Abdul said they hoped for a fair election, but the administration completely failed to hold it fairly.
