3 smugglers held with 220 sacks of fertilizer in Ctg

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has arrested 3 smugglers along with 220 sacks of fertilizer and a truck while they were being transferred to a fishing boat for smuggling to Myanmar in the Dabirkhal area of Halishahar police station in Chittagong city.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan gave this information on Thursday (September 3) afternoon.
He said the Coast Guard Base Chittagong conducted a special operation in the Dabirkhal area under Halishahar police station based on secret information. At that time, 220 sacks (11,000 kg) of fertilizer and a truck used for smuggling were seized while they were being transferred from a truck to a fishing boat for smuggling to Myanmar illegally in that area, and 3 smugglers were arrested.
He also said that the seized fertilizer, the truck used for smuggling and the arrested smugglers have been handed over to Halishahar police station for further legal action.
The estimated market value of the seized fertilizer is Tk 5 lakh 50 thousand.
Sabbir Alam Sujan said the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent smuggling.
