Titas Gas customers will experience severe low gas pressure following a sudden technical fault at an LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, the state-owned gas distributor said on Thursday.

In a press release, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said the fault has reduced the supply of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) from the Maheshkhali LNG terminals by around 550 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD).

As a result, gas pressure has dropped significantly for all categories of consumers under Titas Gas, including power plants, industrial facilities and other users.

Titas Gas apologized for the temporary disruption and said the severe low-pressure situation would continue until normal gas supply is restored.

The company said efforts are underway to repair the technical fault as quickly as possible and normalize gas supply.
