At least three people were killed in gunfight between two rival groups in Panchari upazila of Khagrachari district on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Panchari police station officer-in-charge Md Ferdous Wahid told The Financial Post that the incident took place at about 12:00pm in Madhumangal Para area of Chengi Union in the upazila.
‘A gunfight broke out between two rival groups over establishing dominance, leaving three people dead,’ he said.
He stated that the identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately while a police team went to the scene to recover the bodies.
Detailed information about the incident would be disclosed later, the OC added.
